Proposal and Pitch

For my final project, I will be doing a podcast about the harm social media has on our mental health. During my last year of college, I have worked with a lot of video and audio, as much as I love writing I have tried to prioritise my time by working on editing and camera setup. Which I hope to continue more in as I progress into the future. Another reason I’ve decided to focus on a video podcast, is because when speaking about true real-life hardships, emotion is the biggest concept; I want to engage with my audience on an emotional level, connecting how the guest and I feel and what our facial expressions are highlighting; this will help me overall connect with the viewers. Another factor as to why I have chosen to do video is because this generation can understand video content better. From my previous topics I have learnt to enjoy what I’m doing; this is because I used to HATE research like, it was the absolute worst thing to do, but after speaking with tutors to get a stable plan of how to research, I have started enjoying it because I’ve realised how effective the work can be when you put in the work. This year I have certainly worked harder, put in more effort and really tried to achieve everything that I needed too. I will accept the idea that I had lack of motivation and the fear of failing really overtook a lot of effort in me; but now I’m using that to push myself to limits I haven’t taken before. I have started to do work at home, and I will do more work at any time I can; this will include research, Wix website, planning and preproduction, and I will also cover primary research at home like doing surveys and interviews within my home or outside college. For my FMP, I have decided to do a conversational podcast that involves 2 people, facing the topic on social medias effect on mental health, I am hoping to make it between 30minuets to an hour; I will talk about topics like: will banning social media help our mental health?, is there any scientific proof of why social media is so bad.. I will continue to talk about more after my research so I can form better questions around primary and secondary research. I will also include anecdotes of people’s stories or true incidents that revolve around this topic. My audience is aimed at 15–26-year-olds, which will mean my guest will fall within that age bracket. What I don’t want to achieve is the podcast being opinion based and have information of this could happen, I want it to be factual, statistical and up to date so that my viewers can connect with the video fully, getting all highly important information. My podcast is NOT a conversational, happy, funny podcast, its serious, sad and touchy; I understand I need to keep that in mind and keep a professional front about everything.

Initial idea's

At the start of the project I already had an understanding of what I wanted to do as I spoke with my tutor about carrying on this topic for my FMP, I knew I wanted to do a podcast because podcasts are what I want to get into as a future career, from my previous project I knew I needed more to it; I want to be able to fully research and complete something I'm proud of. That's why I'm taking my previous project to make it into something bigger and better. I want to work on using all my college hours but also focusing on doing work from home and doing primary research outside of college, this will make my knowledge wider and involve more people with more information. Overall I will take every minuet of time I have to work on this project to produce a piece of work to a distingtion level.

Shows and Influence

fmp mindmap ideas

the context written includes my ideas of topics that revolve around Social media and mental health. The topics I included were: comments about mental health on social media, should those with mental health issues  be on these apps? The science behind why social media is so toxic, social media, teens and young adults, deaths of struggling teens, mental health, how dangerous is social media for mental health? Different social media app guidelines, how can social media be more safe? Is social media a cause of death? I will use some of these as question starters or subheadings.

fmp ideas, purpose, people and style

I started off with my ideas; here I stated the host and guest, I go into more detail about what will be included in my podcast; such as questions I also stated how I will include lots of stats and facts with a mix of scientific evidence and anecdotes; although for this project I don't want to focus on opinions, I want to include factual scientific based evidence so its not filled by my opinions. This will also create a more suitable foundation to build on. The purpose is my main point, the thing I want people to take away from my work. The people is focused on the podcast and who will be permitted within the video. And lastly, my style, I want to keep everything formal and professional.

These are some podcasts i found to help start off my project and research.

I like the text that's being portrayed here as its very GenerationZ like, its fun and really creates a good engaging perspective on what's about to happen.

Setting

One host, one guest. Intro subtitles, Johnathan Haidt starts off the podcast of a short intro including snapshots of him on news, and other sites or interviews he was on. Music after this with a sound of si-fi to create a chilling theme. First, host speaks about an insight of the topic and the target audience. Then, moves to guest for him to build on this. They are sitting incredibly close together which makes me as an audience very uncomfortable, it looks like they're squished; personally, I will keep my guest further away so there more space to look more comfortable. The chairs are exemplary because they match a colour theme of the diverse colours: beige, brown, white, orange and other summerset colours. This is good because it makes the podcast feel more gender neutral. the book is a prime factor as its in the centre of the podcast; this is because the guest created this book and they're using it as a marketing campaign so people will want to take a further action and read more. The shelf in the back can give the space a more homey feel to it, making the space feel quiet, comfortable and setts out a perfect idealisation on what to expect. The paintings give some life to the room filling up empty spots without making it stand out, this way the background keeps an authentic look but isn't too distracting to take away the information given. The lighting is soft, yellowish, safe, not too bright and levels out nicely. Overall from this setting I would like to exclude the closeness of the chairs because that will make me uncomfortable and unfocused, but I will like to take away, the colours, the background setting as this is useful.  Because, I want my audience to be focused on my work and what I'm saying rather than being focused on the background, because of how crucial and important my topic is. The host then speaks about the guests book "the anxious generation" by Jonathan Haidt and asks the topic question "you're not saying social media doesn't have benefits" the guest then explains how its more important for adults but not high school kids. Host then builds and speaks about anxiety and how its overused and society sees it as numb. The host asks what anxiety is and its long term use.

Information

Said that this topic is worse than covid. The book is "the anxious generation" by Johnathan Haidt, he speaks about millenials and how they're mental health was much better than todays generation. This ties into how millenials used to play outside and use flip phones to contact friends, whereas in todays society, no one is outside anymore, and everyone is on a screen. He stated that in 2012-2013 girls became depressed, anxious, started self-harming and checking themselves into psychiatric hospitals/ wards. THIS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE! he also stated how its not a coincidence or correlation that this happened when kids went from using flip phones to smart phones (2010-2015). It was described that kids don't need to talk with strangers. Adults use the internet for marketing, whereas kids use it to interact with strangers because during puberty your frontal lobes are developing, so these websites will cause harm because kids are in school and don't need access to the internet. When understanding anxiety; used to be a fear, but now we've made it into something bigger, anxiety is fear, and fear pushes you to be on edge, when that travels further it becomes more weary, because your brain has a deep circuit the chronical series pushes hormonal changes and increases to a higher level for it to stick around longer, this then becomes anxiety; but our generation idealises that anxiety is fear and everyone feels this. Therefore when people with an anxiety condition, they are forced to cover it because its seemed normal and feels like a numb subject for our generation. For the millenials to explain to GenZ, that they need to analyse they're emotions and to figure out what their feeling and why they feel this way, whereas this isn't helpful at all; Kids need to move away from all this and toughen up like millenials but also understand its good to feel upset but not good to be constantly emotional. Kids also need to be excluded. Because millenials were too insensitive; that now were too far sensitive and almost smother kids mental health. For e.g. we wont let anyone be excluded or upset; whereas millenials will learn from being excluded and understand its normal, but now that's not normal and there's the barrier we need to change.

Quotes

"We shouldn't have kids with a massive entertainment centre in their projects"

"Kids are saying it! They never used to say 'we watch too much tv' (millenials >2010) but now, kids say they wish TikTok was never invented"

"They feel Trapped"

"Age 11-12-13 there aren't any benefits for social media"

"We need to raise the ages"

"Norm that no one should get a phone before high school, and kids under 16 shouldn't be on social media"

- To protect kids during puberty

"If we want to get on the mental health society we need to back off adults instructing kids about their emotions"

Feedback

1) How was this helpful?

This was helpful information because it gave me a small insight in how social media affects kids now compared to millenials growing up without the internet. The information portrayed was helpful because it gave me an idea of two different worlds so I can compare how truly different it was like years ago and how emotions have changed over the years. It also helps get an understanding of what millenials would do in a mental health aspect rather than GenZ perception on what we think should be done.

2) What would I take away?

I would first off take away the idea of the setting, I really like the background and I enjoy why they chose certain colours. The whole background setting sets the vibes of gender neutral, its calming, not in your face, sets a nice comforting space and the items used are fitting without highlighting off of what's being said. I would also take away this idea of Millenials vs gen Z on the difference with mental health where social media is relevant. But I also will not be too focused on this as I do want to focus more on genZ rather than everyone as a whole.

3) Why did I reference this source?

I used this source because its a great way to start off my topic; I have enough information to start off my research. Its also amazing as a foundation as I can add on from this to make my research better.

Setting

soft music playing as the guest Jonathan Haidt gives us an introduction. Just like the previous podcast, there is also a short video of lots of clips of interviews and important tv productions that’s Jonathan Haidt has done. For the actually seating arrangement, there is two lime green chairs, what you would usually find in a counselling room; with a dark background letting no light or colour fill up the room. All you can see is a table made with a birch wood top. Theres an iPad for the host that’s perched up and a glass bottle of water with a glass cup on either side of the table. The microphone for Jonothan is sat on the table facing left to form an L-shape to his mouth. Theres also a mug with Rich Roll logo is printed on that both rich and Jonathan both have one. Halfway through there’s upbeat music and an add break. A big light pointing directly down at the table with 3 cameras pointing at the table with an angle. Host asks some questions throughout the podcast for the guest to reply to, they both build on the conversations using formal language and in depth research and knowledge; from this podcast I can defiantly get the idealisation that knowledge is power and the more you know on this topic the more the podcast will go smoothly, therefore I will make sure to understand this topic fully in order to finish a full piece of content. Midway through at 58:14 there was more music and the screen fades black. This then moves onto the host speaking about Genz and understanding that this generation is more acknowledgeable on mental health and seeing this as a young age compared with millennials. The guest asks the host if he views this as good or bad, the host replies with he would think this is good. So now the guest builds on this by stating how there was a stigma when they were younger about being ashamed of mental health or mental issues, there are now groups with more knowledge of mental health; both the host and guest speak and the host asks if that’s a good thing for them to learn about this or if this is bad and making them more prone to what’s happening and making them weaker to dive into these illnesses to provoke them to also display these symptoms, the guest speaks about the ones who have a small illness will be labelled as a diagnosis, girls are more prone to develop influence from other girls more so than boys.

Information

American kids spend 5 hours a day on social media. TikTok, YouTube/ shorts, Instagram. When puberty starts it’s the most vulnerable phase and its also the phase that most kids get their first phone. Time with other kids and sleep is the most important thing to kids. In the 90s kids would spend less than 2 hours with their friends but during 2010 2012 it plummets, after covid was no steeper than 2018. It happened so fast covid didn’t even stop or encouraged it. When a child downloads an app, any company can reach or text this child. Instead of having normal experiences getting the social side changes the neurons of a child because of the no sleep and extra dopamine affects growth. Raise the age for social media account, Jonathan said 18 in terms of health but to achieve clear norms should be 16. Dopamine gives you the feeling of “oh that’s good but I want more”. 2012 Facebook buys Instagram, girls begin to lie about their age and become more open to developing more emotional dysregulation. They care and remember more, and more social aware. Social media is more harmful to girls because they are more open to share their emotions and bad is stronger than good. If some girls share their anxiety or depression online, then other girls will pick up and feed from that and more likely be anxious and depressed. And if you do this, you’ll get support. In 2012 they hyperconnected, and they started sharing contagious emotions. Snapchat streak addition is serving kids to get addicted to not lose the streak they must take time out of their day to service snapchat to not feel left out. Solar system on snapchat can show you where you and your friends are on each persons snap list. This is highly damaging for kids because why are they viewing other people’s best friends, they will again feel left out or betrayed. The question was aimed at people for “how much could we pay you to get off social media” the average was $50. TikTok and Instagram are like a drug because now college kids are saying they would rather pay YOU to get off these apps. When Jonathan asked his college students some questions; he asked if Netflix should never be invented, no college kids said yes, but when asked about TikTok, almost everyone said yes; when he asked why, the students replied how they must know what’s going on because everyone does. Therefore, it’s not about getting one person off this app it’s about removing large chunks of people. The first norm that Jonathan applied (which was said in the previous podcast I did) that there should be no smart phones given to under 16s, 10-year-olds are asking for phones because they feel left out. But give them a flip phone or apple watch until high school. It should be normal for a phone at 14 but no social media until 16, another norm should be around is no phones in school which is already slowly getting to that point because education is plummeting and our academic record is getting lower, kids are getting stupider after years of academics inclining. We also must give our kids a normal childhood with more play less screentime to 80/90%, independence and responsibilities to make small mistakes and risks, we must restore to them a normal childhood with chores because today’s kids feel useless and feel they have no point. In doing this, kids will feel they have more reasons and responsibilities meaning the suicide rate will decrease. This is different from other world panics, because in other world panics, suicide and teens mental health was not risen, in other world panics it was in the media, like a story of a boy who smoke marijuana and killed his parents, you read about these freak stories online, but now everyone sees it, in their own or their friends kids. This is a major international collapse of teen mental health. In 2012-2013 lots of school shootings in America happened so kids there were anxious, but why did girls in New Zealand, Canada, England, Australia and northern Europe all start checking themselves into psychiatric wards. We are seeing more mental health, over therapy over diagnosis and over information on mental health which is why social media is so bad for mental health. People are walking around with altered ideas of what’s real or fake when we always degree everything as fake.

Quotes

: “this technology that is supposed to be bringing us together, they end up making us physically separate”. “Were too overprotective in the psychical spaces and completely under protective in the social space” “if you took someone off heroin for a day, they won’t feel happier, but if they were off, it for a month or longer, then the great majority find an effect”

Feedback

1) How was this helpful?

To understand more about the harm of social media on kids, a more undergrowth of what’s happened by someone who lived and watched it rise, this podcast is helpful when understanding what’s being influenced to kids and why kids are so influenced by everything.

2) What would I take away?

What I would take away is their formal language and their knowledge they both hold up an amazing conversations without sounding confusing. You can tell they’ve done their research and know what to speak about. I really hope my podcast format could fall into what they did and how they portrayed their knowledge and research.

3) Why did I reference this source?

Jonathan Haidt is so smart with this topic; he’s one of my main influences. He holds up great conversation and is so smart with his understanding. He’s done his research and with his book he can really open my brain to more on the topic. I can understand him fully and really can touch with the knowledge out there so therefor I chose this podcast in particular because I know how much knowledge I will get out of it and I know how well I can build from this podcast onto other information.

4) What will I use

I will use certain quotes to back up my points and use information that I gained knowledge from; I will also take away their important conversational effect by doing so much research that I have a valid point and have enough knowledge to ask/ answer questions on the topic. Because I want to focus on the scientific side of this, I will find it important to use knowledge-based answers not opinions.

I really like how for this topic they decided the opening important sentence in red, because this made me remember the sentence throughout the podcast. I will definitely take this away and put a main sentence in a different colour when doing subtitles; because it stands out and captures the views eye by also staying fun and corporative.

Notes I made when watching the podcast. these notes are mentioned in the information section

Image (13)_edited.jpg

My notes for the whole podcast. This is how I stuck to the three topics: setting, info, quotes.

Image (14)_edited.jpg

My mindmap of Jonathan Haidt, here I mention his professions, his book and podcasts I've seen him in. This is crucial for my work as understanding about him makes it easier to understand where his knowledge comes from.

Screenshot 2025-03-27 121657.png

I asked ChatGPT to sum up the podcast and this is what ChatGPT said: the conversation highlights the significant risks posed by social media to children and teenagers, urging parents and society to recognize the dangers and take proactive steps to protect young people from the potential harms of these platforms.

Image (15).jpg

Taken from Jonathan Haidt's Instagram where he speaks about what he believes should be the new norms.

Image (16).jpg

These are comments taken from that Instagram photo, and what stood out to me is that parents will give into the idea of their child feeling left out. What's more important the child's long term mental health or the first few years being phone free. This is still a hard topic across many people and Jonathan has tried to speak about this and work around it. Hopefully in future years we can really understand what is going to be done.

Image (17).jpg

The first comment is exactly what needs to be done and in my opinion I don't get the point of commenting this when that's literally the whole point of the post.

With the second comment, I understand this as my dad spoke to me about the same issues in his workplace, so overall there's knowledge on kids over using their devices and being too prone to what's going on in social media than their own work.

S.W.O.T

This section is all about my strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats before I start the project. This will help me get an overview of what I'm going to be working on and the skills I will earn or lose along the way. As I will be trying different techniques that I've never tried before I am aware there will be lots of areas I need to improve on. That's why I am noting down all the strengths I originally have, the strengths I will gain at the end of the project and the weaknesses that I've improved on and my new targets for future projects.

Screenshot 2025-05-09 142134.png

I used chatGBT as I originally accidently wrote this down in caps, and wanted to change it to lowercase. ChatGBT asked if I wanted to let them add in grammar and punctuation. I ended up doing it myself as I only wanted the Ai's help in changing to lowercase.

My strengths that I have developed over my time here at college. The first one is audience knowledge, this became a strength during my last project when we were taught about target audiences and the buyer personas. This was one part of the previous project I found really fascinating. As my project is very passionate to me; my target audiences are easier to think about. The next strength I have is my ides; this is where my creative skills come in; I can create a pleasing looking website matching the colours and fonts well. The next one is pitching ideas, I feel as though I've done well previously. Communication. I am good at communicating my ideas and can structure a conversation well. My microphone work was great in previous projects because I used techniques and skills to preform a good sound. Lastly is analysis, I was good at English and really enjoyed analysing different books or films; that's why analysing podcasts and media is one of my strong points.

My weaknesses that I will be trying to focus on are adding screenshots to my work, I will need to do this so I can show where I got certain things or how I constructed the idea. The next weakness I have is Research, this is because my research started out as copying and pasting; I then started doing better at research but never found it enjoyable and always put off doing it, that's why this project I am going to try and enjoy researching and hopefully make it a strength. The next weakness is planning, I never made a plan and this always affected my time management; so for this project I am making a plan which I will try to follow, as well as making small research plans and checklists along the way to improve on this weakness. Plan also comes into putting information together/ structure, I will try to organise myself to overcome this issue. The next weakness is camera work and editing podcasts. I will use this project to learn and develop skills. I will ask my tutors for help if I need some and reflect my learning into my website.

My opportunities for this project consists of Ai work, this is something I would like to learn more about because I would love to see how the world will change around Ai; because my project is on social media I feel this would be the perfect opportunity to try learn about Ai. The next opportunity I have is camera work, similar to my weaknesses but I feel I can really gain some knowledge and skills on camera techniques. The next opportunity is planning and scheduling this is where I can try to get better at skills and time management. The third opportunity is about developing my writing and language skills; I will do this by understanding my research and gain better writing skills. The last opportunity I have is editing, this is a good project to gain the chance to develop my skills at editing.

My threats that interfered with previous projects are time management, which I will try to overcome by planning and scheduling. The next threat I have faced is my anxiety, I get really anxious towards finishing my project or completing a task. This becomes really interfering so for this project I will keep myself focused and remain sticking to a solid plan with dates included so I don't get overwhelmed near the end. I will also start putting in 100% at the beginning and remain on track with my work so that I can be more clam throughout. The last threat I've faced is about forgetting to add certain detail to my wix website. This is something that I forget to do, I would have so much information on paper but not share it across anything. That's why for this project I will try to stay focus in doing this.

Authentication

The authentication is to do with copyright forms. This proves that I haven't gone against copyright by using another sites information without submitting where I got it from. Another reason is about copyright Ai, using Ai tools to write my information. I have sourced where everything came from and have linked everything.

This is important to my project because I need to be able to state when I got my information on and not perceive to take someone else's work.

Proposal

The proposal is a document on word, that helps you know what you are doing, and outlines the weeks of the project. The purpose of this contains 6 sections thats in brief paragraphs before starting the project. Section 1 is the rationale. The rationale is where you can reflect on how you've been over the years, talk about why you choose this subject, and the format of your project. Section 2 is the project concept. In this box you share what your project is, what sources you will need and your aims for the project. Section 3 is the evaluation. This section you will need to talk about how you will reflect on your work and evaluate it. Project 4 is the project action plan and timetable. This section is connected with the production schedule. Section 5 is the project research source and bibliography. In this box you will add your initial research, how you will research and some examples. Lastly section 6 is the production schedule. In this box you have to make a detailed plan of your project, and show what you will be doing weekly.

Screenshot 2025-03-24 155136.png

Section 1

In this section I spoke about how I am interested in mental health and social media so my project will be based on these topics.

Furthermore I said how I have developed my skills in editing and videoing, and how this project will give me more potential. I spoke about why I want to do editing for videos and what will help me achieve that.

Screenshot 2025-03-24 160935.png

Section 2

For this section I mentioned about the length of my podcast, a little more in detail at the aim of what I want to achieve in my podcast, what I don't want to add and a little on my target audience.

Section 3

For this section I wrote down my evaluation ideas, when I will do them and what I want to achieve when finishing. I also want to add that on Thursday's, I will write my evaluation and then let my classmate read over and make notes on what's good and what to improve on.

Section 4

This section is about my project plan, which is at the bottom.

Screenshot 2025-03-24 161030.png

Section 5

In this section, I gave an insight to my secondary and primary research. For my secondary research, I added some links for websites that I want to look into before I start my research.

And after that, I spoke about my primary research and what types of primary research I would like to do for this project.

plan

Section 6

In this section, I wrote down a plan that I will try to follow by each week. This was helpful as I got to see what I needed to do and by when, this is also helpful because I can look how many weeks are left and plan ahead for this week or the following week. As this was the first time I've used a plan I really could see how productive it can be and this gave me the insight to do one every time; I used to never plan but throughout this project I will be planning everything to get the best results, and also to be on top with my work and not get confused by asking myself "what do I do now", because of my plans I've found there's always work to be done and I can get that look ahead of time and be finished by the time the week comes around. This also helps with my time management as I was not able to complete work on time I'm hoping with this plan I will be able too. I will update throughout my evaluations how this plan is going. And if I've kept to it.

Pitch PowerPoint -Presentationfmp1.pptx

For my pitch I created a PowerPoint slideshow that contains our SWOT, concept, our ideas and our target audiences. I presented this to Dan and Grahame, they gave some feedback on my slideshow at the end. The important thing that I wanted to produce in my pitch were my targets and skills. In my opinion I believe that understanding targets and skills will all together make me more knowledgeable to where I need to improve and what I've improved on.

For this pitch I wrote information on the PowerPoint slides for me to read as well as some notes about certain slides that i had printed out to read. I kept my PowerPoint printed out, then stapled together so I can have my whole slideshow and information in front of me; where I needed to read the information that wasn't on the PowerPoint I stapled them behind the original slide so I am able to build on the slide with the info in front of me.

Screenshot 2025-03-27 123839.png

Second slide

For this slide I chose this gradient colour because it reminded me of TikTok and again keeping that social media colour theme. But for this slide I spoke about what I want to be focusing on throughout the slideshow.

Forth slide

For this slide I focused on my reflections; I wanted to talk a little bit on how I've gotten to my SWOT before moving onto it. I spoke about HOW I progressed throughout the year not just what I did during my time here. I spoke about the skills I have developed and the skills I hope to develop more into. Lastly I spoke about the things I hope and want to achieve; for this I will continue to read over and do my best to aim to achieve these things.

First slide

My introduction. The yellow faces move around and I chose this because they remind me of emojis which is relatable to my topic. It's fun and bright which is the whole vibe and aesthetics I was aiming towards.

Third slide

This slide was about the content I will be talking about; I created this so I can be on top of what I want to achieve in this PowerPoint, but also gives my tutors an insight of what I'm going to be covering during the whole slideshow.

Sixth slide

For my rationale I noted down what I want to improve on, what I would like to learn more about and knowledge that I want to gain. I found this slide useful because I can understand the things I want to focus on or complete.

Fifth slide

Here is my SWOT analysis, I spoke about my strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. I will hope to improve on all these during this FMP.

Eighth slide

In this slide, I spoke about my pitch development and how I came up with photos, colours, fonts, text, information and anything I put into my pitch was analysed here.

Seventh slide

My idea development consists of how I created my logo, and my mind map for my fmp ideas. This is where I would speak about what ideas I came up with and where I got the ideas from.

Ninth slide

Here I spoke about my plan and schedule, this was crucial for me as I have never done a plan before but this time I really wanted too. I found it was tricky to do but very helpful and if I keep using it to my advantage I can produce something productive.

Tenth slide

For this slide I spoke about my ideas of using camera work. For my format I went with video because its something I want to work on in the future, as well as its important to connect, with the audience's and my own, emotions through a visual rather than audio.

Twelfth slide

For my concept I spoke about my format and how I’m going to design and lay everything out. I also spoke about my subject matter, so what my topic is and what its all about. Lastly my purpose, the purpose to me is the most important factor of my work. I really want to help people and through my work I really hope I can do this; I want to inspire others, and I want to be a role model for those who are suffering to come to my content and feel better.

Eleventh slide

For my inspiration I decided to find three podcast which I’ve already analysed and spoken about in my website. This was important to me as I wanted to get some good insight and production ideas before moving onto my research. And the inspirational people I found were SO helpful and gave me so many ideas and new information that I will take to start off my project.

Fourteenth slide

This slide is just about previous research topics that I have looked over in my previous project because I will be doing the same topic; but not the same research, as now I will build on what I know.

thirteenth slide

For my evaluation slide, I spoke about all the things my evaluations will be focusing on, when I will do them and what I’ll be focusing on, I mostly will be trying to do weekly evaluations and speak about my goals skills weakness and anything that’s gone right or gotten in the way.

Fifteenth slide

This slide is about some research links that made me investigate this topic more. They’re helpful because I get more research and opinions by another journalist, and I can grow on this by finding out how and where it came from and why it’s so toxic.

Sixteenth slide

For my primary research, I spoke about each three types of research, and my opinions on them all. I spoke about the things I’ve tried and what they were like for me, and I stated how I will do every form of primary research there is.

Eighteenth slide

For this slide I split this into two; firstly, I spoke about how confident I am with different research types. I did this so I can see where abouts I’m at and can see at the end if I’ve improved, or if I need to do more research. The second part to this, is my research topics, which include the topics I will be focusing on and my research plan.

Seventeenth slide

For this slide I focused on my secondary research. Just like I did with the primary research, I spoke about the things I’ve tried, not sure on or want to try/ do in this project. I was also unsure on some of these which I spoke about.

Nineteenth slide

This next slide is all about my target audience, and to me I loved learning about target audiences because I think its such a crucial piece of knowledge to have and when you understand why they’re important it can be so effective in your work. My target audience was put in a lot of thought because I wanted to create an ideal person but think about why someone would want to watch or learn about the information I’m sharing. Because everyone is so different and unique finding little things that would make up a whole person is very difficult. But as I would look for my topics, I will use my own experiences and parts of me that could form a good target audience/ buyer persona.

Twentieth slide

My action plan is the last slide I have; I spoke about my targets I’m working towards; I spoke about things I would like to achieve at doing, I spoke about how I’m going to reach these targets and what I’m going to do. I explained fully in detail how I want my work and targets to be met, and I also spoke about little things I’m going to add to complete my overall targets and grades.

Pitch feedback

Grahame started off by telling me it was impressive and saying well done, this was good news as I was very anxious. He speaks about my journey and mentions how I'm passionate about my subject matter. He also stated how I need to know exactly what my project will be, how long it will be, what guests I have. Grahame also spoke about how I've justified why and how I am going to do them. So for the targets I've set myself, if I can address them and achieve them. Grahame said I should ask questions to myself like what is it I want to do. My primary research could potentially lead me to my guest, or focus groups and interviews. I then was asked where I want to film and I mentioned the room I was in (TV studio 1) because it's bigger and I could form a more comfortable setting when talking about a serious topic. *Future edit* Unfortunately that room was fully booked so it got moved. Because I mentioned Ai and how I wanted to research on it, Grahame said I could find out if that would be a good or bad thing for mental health. I asked if there was anything I did wrong, or messed up on, Grahame said he thinks I need to understand the project and the shape of it a bit more. Dan said to understand the purpose a little more, what makes my podcast unique. What's the first topic going to be, what's the second and the third for how long, because there's two topics, social media and mental health I have to define that and how do they connect. If I'm showing stats to younger audience I have to speak about it so they understand. Working out what my podcast will be, the structure of it and what it will look like. Evaluating everything, explaining my journey and justifying my decisions. "This will help me step in this direction because." I should think of ways to not make it too heavy and brighten it up a bit. Grahame said he thinks I could get some support with development Ai, how the design looks. I need to sort out things to address.

Part 1 to Pitch Feedback

Part 2 to Pitch Feedback

I saved my video and published it onto YouTube, privately, this was a very scary expirence. Because my powerpoint slides were printed out I was just reading off of the papers, I look back and realise I need to change this. Therefore I'll set targets to tell myself to reherce and practice things so I can preform better.
