Social media is this generations big thing, but along with that there’s so many down sides. I’ve learnt skills that will help me get to the next stage of life, going Bournemouth University will help me learn new heights and achieve my end goal of creating media to help those around me become mentally healthier. Our mental health is being destroyed with every click of a button... So, what can we do? With my podcast I want to highlight the issues of social media and help keep you safe online. With guidelines and helpful strategies, I know we can make the social world safer. Your protection is a big priority so if you do struggle with mental health, maybe our parents are right? Maybe it is the phones. With my project, and my own experiences we can shape the world around us to be stronger and safer for everyone. Please join me on this journey, its mental, but we’re Mental Media.

My inspiration for this was, I wanted the effect of having everything "perfect" on the phone, but in real life it's tearing you apart. I did have a sketch that I drew, after I finished my maths exam, but it got taken as I wasn't allowed to take anything out of the room. I first came up with the idea of social medias hearts, when editing on Canva, I found these that matched my logo, this was the perfect photo. Then I thought it looked bland so I added a tree for nature, nature sooths people and when you see a photo of a beautiful sunny area, you wish you was there. That's when I wanted a storm, the worst storm possible, I wanted to add this because no one wants to be in a storm looking at someone's photo of a sunny day, but its also metaphorically how people can feel when they see someone having fun online, social media makes people feel trapped in a storm so that's where that inspiration came from. After that I wrote the quotes "don't be fixated on someone else's sun when they could be in a storm" which would make someone open their eyes to realise social media is fake. I had my brand name at the top, my QR code and "social media is destroying your mental health, what can you do?..." I did this because I want people to be drawn in, I want them to understand what's going on with my project.

For some reason my video only lasted for 17 Minuets on YouTube due to their guidelines because I'm unverified that's why I made sure to add the link to the video at the top because YouTube doesn't work.. I posted the final video onto YouTube, I published all my videos to private. Unfortunately, as I was uploading the video, an error came up for my video being too long, for this I had to create a verified account. At first I was unsure what I was doing so I looked at the help centre on YouTube and added the extra information to my channel, I tried to re-do the video hoping this time it would work.

It was a strange experience filled with excitement but also scary because I have never uploaded anything to YouTube or made a channel so it was new to me, this was very scary though as I didn't want the video to go public. One because I don't want my college videos being for the world, and Two, because Camhs also signed a contract form about the fact this video can't be show anywhere outside of marking reasons.
